Wavves

Nathan Daniel William’s Wavves project is some of my favorite lo-fi noise pop that I have ever heard. He buries good ole catch pop melodies underneath noisy layers of pure fuzz driven love. You can pre-order the new self-titled LP for $15 now (plus receive MP3’s instantly) at Insound.com.
What else can I really say about this kid that hasn't been said? Oh yea he blogs about classic hip-hop. His blog on here Ghost Ramp, which has become a favorite read as of lately and this kid actually knows his 90's masterpieces.

The White Stripes 2nd pressing vinyl of the debut 45 with a deluxe Dion Fischer stenciled cover

The White Stripes are the best hands down. If you enjoy them or vinyl collecting I would suggest to snag up the 2nd pressing vinyl of the debut 45 Let's Shake Hands b/w Look Me Over Closely with a deluxe Dion Fischer stenciled cover. Complete with orignal inserts and maybe some extras. Hand numbered out of 1000. To purchase click here. Last time availible on vinyl ever! So once it's gone the bay will be the only source.
A little history via wiki: "Let's Shake Hands" showcases the early garage punk sound of the band in its infancy. The single is backed with a cover of "Look Me Over Closely," a song written for Marlene Dietrich by folk musician Terry Gilkyson.

The first edition was 1,000 copies on clear red vinyl. In 2002 the single was repressed, on both black and red vinyl, although exactly how many of each is not known. The cover was a better quality version of the original photo. There was a "secret" third pressing in 2007 with cover art reworked by Dion Fischer as a stencil version of the original. It was pressed on black vinyl and 1000 hand numbered copies were produced. Highly coveted among diehard fans, this 7" remains one of the rarest and priciest items in The White Stripes' entire discography.

Detroit's Devil's Night 1990

Growing up in the metro Detroit area participating in Devil's Night activities was sort of a rite of passage growing up. In the burbs we threw eggs, toilet papered houses and other petty vandalism. While just a few miles away the inner city neighborhoods looked like something out of an apocalypse movie.
According to wiki Devil's Night is a Detroit inception: Devil's Night is a long-standing tradition predating World War II, with anecdotal incidents occurring as early as the 1930s. Traditionally, youths in Detroit engaged in a night of criminal behavior, which usually consisted of acts of vandalism

This youtube clip will gives a great old school look of the crazy night. Also I love watching it because it makes me feel 12 again. Props to Rickker for finding this.

You can purchase it at his website for $19.99 plus S&H on DVD or VHS(adults only).
